Transportation in Hoi An
Hoi An is relatively flat and distances are short, so walking is easy. Most of the hotels, except those on the beach, are within an easy walk of each other and all the attractions of the Old Town.
Getting around Hoi An Old Town is a pedestrian's paradise!
We have compiled this list of Hoi An Transport information, but as always be sure to ask your host and the staff. They live here so they will have the latest local knowledge. For things to see & do during your holiday, take a look at our Hoi An Destination Guide. For more general information, visit our Vietnam Transportation Guide.

Bus
If you're travelling by bus, you'll be lucky to arrive at all. Even hard-core travellers who have done the bus scene in other developing countries should think twice before getting on a bus here. Enough said.
Walking
Hoi An has pleasant places to walk. Most of the hotels are concentrated in the downtown area within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and attractions.
Motorbike
If you're heading to the beach, you may want to try a motorbike. 50cc motorbikes are easily rented from your hotel or street vendors who will bring the bike to your hotel at a scheduled time. Rates are typically between US$3-$10 a day. Be sure to check the motorbike when it arrives. Usually they'll find you another one in a matter of minutes if you express your dissatisfaction with a poorly maintained bike.
